I am a native of Gaston County and was educated in the Gaston County school system, where I was a student athlete. My athletic gifts earned me a track & field scholarship to Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Western Carolina University. I later went on to further my education and received a Master's Degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AR.
