The North Carolina Farm Bureau
Mutual Insurance Company was incorporated September 13, 1953 under the laws of
North Carolina, and first conducted business on October 2 of that year. With its
home office in Raleigh, the company has become the largest domestic property and
casualty insurer in the state. As a mutual insurance company, we are owned and
controlled by our policyholders through an elected board of directors.
Our company is an affiliate of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation,
a non-profit membership organization representing the agricultural interests
of our state. The North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation also provides educational,
economic, public affairs, marketing, and various other services to its members.
As one of these services, our company was formed to provide rural and farming
citizens appropriate and affordable insurance coverage. We have remained faithful
to that premise throughout our years of growth and service. In fact, many diverse lines of
coverage are now offered to meet the wide range of insurance needs faced by most
citizens of North Carolina.
Utilizing a network of
approximately 800 exclusive agents, North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance ranks
among the leading property and casualty insurance organizations. Insurance
coverage is provided exclusively to more than 430,000 Farm Bureau members and
their dependents.
With assets of over $1 billion and
an A.M. Best Company, Inc. rating of A (Excellent), we are well positioned and
equipped to serve our policyholders in both personal insurance and the many
commercial lines of coverage we provide.
Also, as a major employer with
more than 750 employees, we provide equal opportunities for employment to those
qualified individuals seeking to become associated with our company as an
employee or agent.
